College Counseling

Ursuline Academy offers a comprehensive college counseling program that is designed to help both the student and parents through the college application process.  This program will help students to identify colleges that best meet their abilities and skills, interests, and values.  

College Counseling is available to students and their parents throughout the students’ high school years. In the fall and spring students attend college fairs to enable them to discover new colleges and universities and establish relationships with college admission representatives. Ursuline also hosts college admission representatives throughout the year on campus.

During the junior and senior years the counselor schedules individual conferences to help students define their goals and interests and assist them with their college choices. The Counselor guides students in the college planning and admissions process and serves as liaison between the student and the college admissions office.

SCOIR

SCOIR is a tool to help navigate the college search and selection process. Through SCOIR, students can research colleges, keep track of important deadlines, learn about upcoming college visits, perform national scholarship searches, learn about local scholarship opportunities, write college resumes, and communicate with teachers and counselors regarding recommendations. SCOIR also offers tools for career searches and online assessments.

Career Counseling & Experiences

Career exploration and counseling occurs throughout the students’ high school years. Students take different interest inventories and career assessments, have the access to researching careers and majors, and take part annually in the Career Experience in which dozens of professionals come and present different aspects of their careers to the high school students in small groups.
