Student Support

Elementary School Counseling Department

Students in Toddler 1 through seventh grade have a full-time elementary school counselor available daily for individual or group counseling. She provides support for students with personal or academic challenges, helps with problem solving, and guides them to develop positive attitudes and good relationships with peers, teachers and family members.

The counselor also conducts class sessions covering topics such as anger management, communication skills, peer and family relationships, and more. A Character Education Program, which focuses on a positive character trait every month, helps enhance individual and social development. A study skills course for middle school students is taught throughout the year. Other academic support services like grade-monitoring, study groups, peer tutoring and testing programs are also provided.

Individualized Learning Support

Ursuline Academy is designed to address the needs of every student, including those who have learning differences. The academy's Individualized Learning Support Program is overseen by an Instructional Specialist in both the elementary and high school divisions. In addition to classroom accommodations, our specialists meet our students where they are and assist them in achieving their academic potential. A student must submit a psychoeducational evaluation within three years of the current academic year to qualify for both accommodations and the program.
