Giving Societies at Ursuline Academy

As Ursuline Academy of New Orleans approaches its Tricentennial Celebration in 2027, Lifetime Giving Societies have been established to recognize and honor donors who have demonstrated extraordinary generosity. These societies inspire continued philanthropy, strengthen donor engagement, and celebrate the Academy’s longstanding tradition of excellence and service. The members of these Giving Societies are recognized annually during an Academy Mass, and their stories of giving are shared with our students.
Annual Giving Society
1727 Society: Recognizing lead benefactors to the Serviam Annual Fund who contribute $1,727 or more within a fiscal year. The 1727 Society will streamline our recognition structure by removing the additional giving circles and referring to all donors who contribute $1,727 or more annually as members of the 1727 Society.
Lifetime Giving Societies
-
La Gironde Society — Recognizes donors with cumulative lifetime contributions of $1,000,000 or more.
Named for La Gironde, the ship that carried the Ursuline sisters from France to New Orleans in 1727. This society honors those whose transformational giving carries forward the sisters’ bold spirit of mission and sacrifice.
- Loyauté Society — Recognizes donors with cumulative lifetime contributions between $500,000 and $999,999.
Loyauté is the French word for loyalty and reflects Ursuline’s deep roots in France and Quebec. This society honors steadfast commitment and faithful support across generations.
- Tricentennial Society — Recognizes donors with cumulative lifetime contributions between $300,000 and $499,999.
This society commemorates nearly 300 years of Ursuline education in New Orleans, celebrating those whose generosity ensures the legacy of the oldest Catholic girls' school in the United States.
- Cortesia Society — Recognizes donors with cumulative lifetime contributions between $150,000 and $299,999.
Named for the Italian word for courtesy, this society pays tribute to St. Angela Merici’s birthplace and the grace-filled charism with which she founded the Ursuline Order in 1535.
- Serviam Society — Recognizes donors with cumulative lifetime contributions between $50,000 and $149,999.
Rooted in our motto—Serviam, meaning “I will serve”—this Latin name reflects both our founding mission and our call to serve others. It represents the beginning of a lasting legacy of generosity.
