All faculty, parent, and student nominations must be submitted by March 14, 2025 to be considered. The Chair will be awarded in April of the 2025 academic year.

The Alvaro O'Byrne and Maria Teresa Malvehy O'Byrne Faculty Chair was established to support faculty who demonstrate exceptional teaching practices, foster a love of learning and mastery, and inspire intellectual curiosity in students.

Eligibility/Criteria for Selection: The annual recipient(s) of this fund will be selected based on the following criteria:

Teaching Effectiveness: Evidence of dynamic and engaging classroom practices that enhance student learning outcomes.
Innovation: Development or implementation of creative teaching strategies that inspire curiosity and deepen subject matter understanding.
Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning through participation in workshops, conferences, or advanced study.
Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to guide and support students or colleagues in their academic or personal growth.
Community Engagement: Contributions to the school community that enhance its intellectual and cultural environment.

The recipient(s) will be chosen annually by the selection committee. The award may be distributed as a stipend, professional development grant, or other support as determined by the Academy.
