The Alvaro O'Byrne and Maria Teresa Malvehy O'Byrne Faculty Chair was established to support faculty who demonstrate exceptional teaching practices, foster a love of learning and mastery, and inspire intellectual curiosity in students.
Eligibility/Criteria for Selection: The annual recipient(s) of this fund will be selected based on the following criteria:
- Teaching Effectiveness: Evidence of dynamic and engaging classroom practices that enhance student learning outcomes.
- Innovation: Development or implementation of creative teaching strategies that inspire curiosity and deepen subject matter understanding.
- Professional Development: Commitment to continuous learning through participation in workshops, conferences, or advanced study.
- Mentorship: Demonstrated ability to guide and support students or colleagues in their academic or personal growth.
- Community Engagement: Contributions to the school community that enhance its intellectual and cultural environment.
The recipient(s) will be chosen annually by the selection committee. The award may be distributed as a stipend, professional development grant, or other support as determined by the Academy.
