"Ursuline gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone..."
Karrington Knight (KK) is the definition of an Ursuline girl. And what a legacy she leaves as a Mac of 2018: Captain of the golf team, honors graduate (top 10 in her class), recipient of the 2018 Cor Unum Award given by the Ursuline Alumnae Association, senior class president, Orchestra member (she plays cello) and Ursuline Girl since Toddler 3.
“I know, it sounds like a lot but I loved it. To have stayed there my whole life was a blessing,” Knight said. “Knowing the campus, the teachers – it took a lot of nerves away. Ursuline gave me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. I always knew I had the support of teachers, even if I failed. And it made me feel safe to try other things,” she said.
For KK, Ursuline wasn’t just a high school choice. It was a life choice. The Academy's community service requirements and motto, Serviam, shaped her view of the world. “I never wanted to leave Ursuline. I have made lifelong friends there, and I am just so happy that I had the opportunity to stay there for all my school years,” said Knight.
As she begins her new chapter at Rhodes College, she has joined the golf team, and her academic plans are well in play, too. She will major in international business, with minors in Spanish and Psychology.
