This week, some of the Junior Sioux traveled to Washington D.C. to participate in the Close Up program. This program welcomes students from across the country and allows them to experience the nation’s capital in a new light. The juniors will be visiting all of the major monuments, museums, and tourist sites of D.C., including the Washington Monument, the National Archives, the Newseum, and the Jefferson Memorial. Today, the girls met with our State Senator, Bill Cassidy and took a tour of the Capitol Building. Later in the week they’ll even travel to Colonial Williamsburg to experience what the United States was like at the beginning of its foundation. The juniors are missed on campus, but the stories of their experience are highly anticipated.
