With many car accidents in today’s world, it is important for America’s youth to learn about safe driving. Throughout the month of January, Ursuline sophomores took a field trip to The Sudden Impact Program. Nurses, NOPD officers, and survivors of fatal car accidents talked to the girls about their experiences and what to do to avoid these situations. Wearing a seatbelt and driving sober was emphasized in these speeches. In Louisiana alone, a death is caused by a motor vehicle crash every twelve hours. To decrease the amount of accidents in not only Louisiana, but the whole country, this program is a way to start.
