Lessons from a Mardi Gras Indian

It's not every day a real Mardi Gras Indian visits your classroom! Ursuline dad aka "Wild Man" of the Young Brave Hunters Indian Tribe talked to our elementary art students about the costume-making process. In his first visit, he brought photos and also his actual costume. Today, he brought some patches that he is currently working on for Mardi Gras 2020! Our Ursuline girls each wrote down a color pattern that he will include somewhere in his costume! Moving forward, our girls will have the opportunity to sew their very own pieces!
