Our 7th grade Ursuline girls are currently working on a cross-curricular project that shows the impact of plastics in the ocean. Students will be creating photography and music that will raise awareness of this issue and how we can inspire others to help our planet. The lesson started by attending an educational class at The Aquarium of the Americas. There, students learned about the effects of plastic pollution in our local water systems and how long certain materials take to break down in the environment. Students photographed the sea-life seen at the aquarium and will create artwork and music for an exhibit at the Ursuline Fine Arts Festival.
