Our Ursuline girls' giving hearts never cease to amaze us! Recently, the New Orleans City Council presented Junior Morgan Bennett with a special proclamation - thanking her for efforts and recognizing the difference she has made in the community. In the spirit of Serviam, the Academy motto meaning "I will serve," Morgan started a blanket drive to benefit those most in need. The drive's mission statement affirms that it will "provide and introduce youth to the experience of community service through a hands-on experience that will ultimately provide warmth to our community."
This hands-on blanket-making experience came to life when our high school Ursuline girls joined together over their Mardi Gras break to serve by creating these blankets. In addition, they also sorted Mardi Gras beads for
Arc of Greater New Orleans.
A huge thank you to our Ursuline girls! You are truly Serviam in action and you definitely make us proud. Special thanks to Campus Minister, Beth Joubert, and high school administration and faculty for providing a safe, socially-distanced opportunity for our girls to serve during these uncertain times.
