Message to Ursuline Parents and Students.

Dear Ursuline parents and students,

As we continue the recovery process, we will be sending out an additional survey, by grade level, to determine students’ ability to access assignments and virtual learning. To best serve the needs of our families, we are planning to post several assignments for each class beginning Wednesday of next week, with the desire to move to full virtual instruction beginning Monday, September 13th.

We hope that our families and the school will soon have power and our goal is to return to campus and regular instruction as soon as it is safely possible. We realize that every student may not be available for virtual learning immediately. We will work on setting realistic deadlines and attendance requirements.

We also want to provide families with all of the information and resources we can. Parents, we realize that this can be a time of great uncertainty and anxiety for children. Please reach out to our counseling staff if you need assistance. The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has some helpful information. Please click this link to access Parent Guidelines for Helping Children after a Hurricane. We are here for one another during this difficult time.

Students, we love you and miss seeing your bright faces on campus. Fortunately, our school did not receive much damage, so we are looking forward to being back together at school soon! If you are worried or feeling anxious, please talk to your parents or a family friend and please reach out to our guidance counselors: For grades K-7 that is Jen Nettles, jnettles@uanola.org, and for grades 8-12 it is Coti Gayles, cgayles@uanola.org or Tracy Buccino, tbuccino@uanola.org. Juniors and seniors, if you have upcoming college deadlines or questions, Ms. Staggers is ready to assist you, dstaggers@uanola.org.

Please know that your well-being is our primary concern at this time. With St. Angela’s words, “Have hope and firm faith,” continuing to resonate within us, I lift you each up in prayer as we persevere together.

Serviam!
