Sailing team competes at the Jackson Yacht Club Hospitality High School Regatta.
On Saturday November 6, the Sailing Team raced in Jackson, MS against schools from Mississippi and Alabama for the Jackson Yacht Club Hospitality High School Regatta. Ursuline was the only team from New Orleans and the only all-girls team. Although it was a beautiful day, conditions were challenging with very light wind.
Reaching a personal best performance, Emily Threeton '21 and Sibria Adams '22 sailed together and placed first place in the12 boat A division! Ursuline entered three 2-boat teams which placed 5th, (missing the podium only two points out from 3rd), 9th and 12th.
Next up, the team will sail in the Great Oaks Regatta hosted by Southern Yacht Club on November 20-21 which will bring teams to New Orleans from all over the country.
All qualified students admitted regardless of race, color, creed, national or ethnic origin.
