Ursuline Senior Coordinates Blanket-Making Drive to Warm All Ages

Senior Morgan Bennett orchestrated her second blanket making drive on Friday, February 11th at Ursuline Academy. One of Morgan's favorite things to do is volunteer and serve her community. “I love making blankets” said Morgan. “Who doesn’t like to wrap up in a warm, comforting blanket? Blankets are something I use almost daily. It’s simple, kind and sweet.”

Ursuline's Blanket Making Drive, is a community service event where students come together to make no-sew blankets. Blankets are one of the most asked for items at homeless shelters and nursing homes.  They have also been found to provide comfort for children with special needs. All blankets are distributed to organizations that correspond to each grades’ community service focus area. We are proud to have donated over 300 blankets to Catholic Charities PACE, Covenant House, Magnolia Community Center, and Lafon
Nursing Home.
