Fifth Grade Skypes with NASA

Ursuline Academy encourages girls to further explore careers in science and engineering by speaking with women who are accomplished in STEM careers.
Fifth grade has been studying space and the solar system, and recently had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Louise Jandura in California, via Skype technology. Ms. Jandura works with NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), a career that spans more than a few decades. Her current position is Chief Engineer for the Sampling and Caching Subsystem for the future Mars 2020 Rover.
Our students had the opportunity to ask Ms.Jandura questions about her career path and interest in science and engineering, as well as the current mission of the Mars Curiosity Rover.
