8th Grade Learns History of Ursuline Sisters

This past month, 8th grade students have been learning about the history and mission of the Ursulines in their religion class. Students studied St. Angela's unique vision for a company of professed women who served the Lord outside the walls of a convent. They then studied the expansion of the order from Italy into France, Quebec, and finally into New Orleans. After studying the effects of the Ursuline sisters in New Orleans, students researched the formation process of modern Ursulines, from discernment through the novitiate and professing vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience.

Each 8th grade religion class is also getting a chance to have lunch with our Ursuline Sisters in their convent right here on State Street! The first class had a great conversation with the Sisters while enjoying pizza!
