Our Kindergarten students celebrated the Mexican Christmas tradition of Las Posadas today with a procession around campus! This procession represents the journey Mary and Joseph took to find room to rest the night before Jesus' birth. The girls dressed as the Holy Family, angels, shepherds, and animals...to name a few! As they traveled, they sang songs of prayer in both English and Spanish. Once they finally found a space, they celebrated with a star-shaped piñata and sweet tamales!
A special thank you to our Special Events Coordinator and kindergarten parent, Wendy Jones, for sharing this tradition with us...a tradition she celebrated as a young girl. It was quite special for her to share this day with her daughter and classmates.
