Beyond Our Borders is Ursuline Academy’s high school immersion program. Each year, a small group of students leaves the comforts of home for an adventure in service learning. They live in impoverished villages, getting a sense of a life much different than their own. They teach. They build. They devote their time and energy to serving others, but they get so much in return.
After participating in Beyond Our Borders in 2016, Ursuline girls Victoria Cogan, Annelise Ernst, Kari Grace Plunkett, and Catey Riddickhave spent the past year taking action in our community and reflecting on their experience. The girls created a book as a culminating project to explain their experience from start to finish, which is also a great inspiration piece for Ursuline girls to be motivated to participate in Beyond Our Borders in the future.
